Wavetek Models 182A and 188 cover a wide 4 mHz to 4 MHz frequency span in sevel overlapping ranges. Each multiplier settings gives you a full 1000:1 frequency range. Frequency may be set with the calibrated dial or externally modulatd or swept across an entire range; for example, the 40 Hz to 40 kHz band can be covered in one sweep. In addition the Model 188 provides internal linear and logarithmic sweep over 3 and 4 decades, respectively.
Triggered and gated modes give the instruments additional flexibility. In triggered mode, output is a DC baseline until a manual trigger or external TTL signal initiates a single waveform cycle. Gated mode is similar to triggered, except that the generator produces a burst of waveform cycles for the duration of the signal.
