The FVA-3100 achieves accurate, repeatable and precise attenuation settings. It is ideal for manufacturing and laboratory applications, such as EDFA characterization; component and system loss simulation; instrument calibration; power meter linearity measurement; and spectral tuning.
The FVA-3100 attenuators are configured for singlemode and multimode fiber; their calibration extends over the entire attenuation range for the 1200/1650 nm and 700/1350 nm wavelength ranges. Its ultra low insertion loss of 1.5 dB allows you to minimize your budget loss. Return loss for singlemode equipment is better than 55 dB. Another important characteristic of the attenuator is its PDL that is better than 0.2 dB. Attenuation is polarization dependent and slight movement of equipment patchcords alter input signal polarization. A low PDL specification means that the polarization of the input signal has a minimal effect on the attenuator setting.
