The RIFOCS 260A series of true palm-sized Laser Sources answers the requests from the industry for small, rugged and truly versatile Laser Sources for use in the installation, maintenance and testing of fiber optic systems. All Laser Sources feature the precision DIAMOND Universal Connector Interface (UCI-PC) which interfaces to all standard fiber optic connectors via a complete line of simple, screw-on/screw-off UCI adapters. The RIFOCS Laser Sources employ a military grade hermetically sealed laser diode with a proprietary and extremely stable fiber coupling scheme. Hermetically sealed laser diodes are important for reliability and longevity.
The 260A family features both CW and modulated output modes. In CW mode these instruments feature extremely stabilized and calibrated output power (-10dBm) to speed up transmission loss measurements. In the modulated mode the frequency may be set to 270Hz, 1kHz or 2kHz by the user, via a switch located in the battery compartment. Three
