The standard unit provides a complete range of accurate analog measurement systems. Options for TDMA (IS-54, IS-136, NADC) and CDMA (IS-95, cdmaOne) add a full set of digital measurements and, by selecting these, the 3600D can be customised to fit your application.
The 3600D has extensive signaling test capability including Calling Number ID, Message Waiting, Distinctive Ringing, and correct Authentication operation for analog and digital phones. The voice codec options available for TDMA systems (VSELP, ACELP) allow the 3600D to perform full voice mode testing of digital phones. The firmware is stored in Flash Memory so as upgrades to the firmware can be quickly loaded from the PC compatible floppy and the latest Software Update is available right here on the web.

Flexible Operation
The 3600D can be operated in any of 3 modes:
Autorun
A Single button automatically performs a pre-programmed and customizable series of tests, prompting the user as required for input such a keypad testing on the phone. The 3600D comes with standard AUTORUNS stored in memory which can be executed with the push of a button. Customizing these 3600D AUTORUNS is so easy using any ASCII text editor on a PC. Up to five AUTORUNS can be stored in a 3600D and these can be modified and reloaded using a standard floppy disk and a PC.
Remote Automatic
Using the industry standard SCPI language, a PC can be programmed to control the 3600D when a specialized user interface is required or if the unit must be integrated into an existing test environment. Remote Operation uses the standard RS-232 serial port or the optional GPIB port. Several optional programs are available from WWG. A full programming reference is available. Custom programming services are also available from WWG.
Manual
The extensive use of soft keys, large fonts, and well laid-out dedicated hard keys give the experienced user all the troubleshooting tools necessary to find even the most troublesome problems in a mobile phone.

Screen Capabilities
The 3600D's large LCD display presents previously unavailable visibility for technicians. Readable from up to a 45o angle, the LCD allows important summary information to be easily viewed without constant adjustment.
Complete displays of AMPS, NAMPS, TDMA and CDMA summary screens provide information vital to cellular phone testing. Information is updated and adjustments can be made and displayed on the summary screen. A complete summary screen can save hundreds of keystrokes and hour by avoiding the need to flip from one screen to another to perform a single set of tests. This also reduces human errors by eliminating the need to write down or remember the parameters on one screen while switching to another.
Extensive Graphical Analysis
The 3600D uses real-time graphics whenever possible to provide the technician an instant recognition of the phone's performance. From transmitter power change versus time to constellation displays of modulation quality, the 3600D is unique in its ability to convey complex data simply and clearly.
Multiple Test Storage
The 3600D's resident memory allows you to store up to 5 custom test programs, each structured to verify specific test operations. These tests can be used to enhance both new and experienced users' capabilities, consistency, quality, and throughput.

Soft Keys
Operating an extensive test or improving response time is made possible by switching to the unit's soft keys. Only the keys that are most relevant to the current display are shown, providing even greater ease of use.
Manufacturer's ID
Now it's possible to pull up a special specification table based on the manufacturer's ID number. Through referencing a particular brand's typical performance, the 3600D can more accurately identify phones that perform differently and require closer inspection, even if they are still in the EIA specification table.
One Button Test Access Select two of your custom tests for convenient, one button access on the 3600D's front panel. By designating the "Auto" or "Quick" test buttons, technicians can easily select preprogrammed tests that best suit your shop's requirements. Now it's simple to pair easy-access tests such as a quick verification program and a repair program that exits to the manual mode to repair and calibrate phones. This capability allows users of many technical levels to quickly and correctly perform necessary tests. Supplement your custom programming selection by using the 3600D's additional standard one button tests all easily accessed on the unit's front panel. One touch of the ID button will perform the ESN, MIN and SCM check required to verify programming and identify the phone.
The versatile design of the 3600D permits an exit to manual mode when a failure occurs, allowing technicians to repair or calibrate the failed phone until it passes. It's also possible to return to the original test at the point of failure - resulting in significant time saved and increased service quality.
Autograph Feature
The 3600D has reduced test time by improving WWG's popular "Autograph" feature in some configurations. The user specifies the channels to be tested and the increment between them. If the 3600D fails a phone level, it will automatically leave the auto test and allow the user to adjust the level on the manual screen. After the technician is satisfied that the phone is repaired, they can choose to exit, or to rerun the test.
Measurement Accuracy
The 3600D provides true adaptability for engineering technicians evaluating phone products. An internal cross point switch is used to implement many different filters to improve the accuracy of measurements. A "C" message weighted filter is included, In addition to 50 Hz and 300 Hz high pass filters, and 3 kHz, 15 kHz and 30 kHz low pass filters. This flexibility allows a measurement to duplicate set-ups normally reserved for engineering level test equipment.
Custom Programming Made Affordable and Easy
Market research has shown that technicians appreciate the accuracy and ease provided by custom cellular phone testing programs. Unfortunately, many shops have been unable to justify the high software development costs that personalized programs have commanded. Others have been limited by lack of flexibility or incompatible formats.
In a dramatic breakthrough, WWG has made it possible for technicians to store up to five of their own custom tests, or tests provided by carriers or manufacturers, on the 3600D - without external connections, additional expense, or tedious programming. No translation difficulties or extraordinary costs are required to share programs and test results. Simply upload tests into the 3600D through its 3.5" PC compatible disk drive. Once completed, tests may be stored on the unit or on disk for convenient future use. PC disks provide virtually infinite test storage capacity.
