Rohde & Schwarz FS300 Spectrum analyzer 9 kHz - 3 GHz -115 - +33 dBm, RBW 200Hz - 1 MHz TFT color display

Since the displayed average noise level is typically -120 dBm (300 Hz), even weak signals can be reliably detected. This is important for the measurement of spurious and harmonics. Within the intermodulation-free dynamic range of the R&S FS300 no inherent distortions occur, which could interfere with the measurement. This is especially useful when a high dynamic range is required, i.e. high and low levels are to be measured simultaneously. Points in the measurement trace are displayed with a level uncertainty of <1.5 dB. This value is unrivalled in this price class and an essential prerequisite for high measurement accuracy. With 16 different digitally implemented resolution bandwidths starting at 200 Hz, the R&S FS300 can be optimally adapted to different measurement tasks. Large bandwidths for overall measurements ensure short sweep times while small bandwidths provide high frequency resolution and low noise level. With the aid of the built-in frequency counter, the signal frequency can be measured with 1 Hz resolution in the entire frequency range. The maximum input level for the R&S FS300 of +33 dBm permits signals to be measured far beyond the common limits. Mobile phones with a maximum output power of 2W can be directly connected to the spectrum analyzer without external attenuators being required. Operation is menu-guided so that even untrained users will quickly obtain correct measurement results. Clear structures simplify navigation within the menus. Users familiar with spectrum analyzers from Rohde & Schwarz will quickly find the menu items they know from other Rohde & Schwarz instruments. The bright TFT color display with 320x240 pixel resolution allows traces to be read even at an angle or with high background lighting. The high refresh rate of up to 10 pictures per second ensures smooth display of measurement results. Changes of parameters during module adjustment are thus rapidly displayed which saves time in development and production. The R&S FS300 offers a number of measurement and marker functions to support signal analysis. Two normal or one normal and one delta marker are provided for determining the signal level. The normal marker may be positioned as a reference marker on the fundamental, for instance, while the delta marker is positioned on a harmonic. The difference between the two levels represents the harmonic suppression. The normal or delta markers can also be used as noise markers for measuring the noise power density. The n dB bandwidth of a signal, e.g. the 3 dB or 6 dB bandwidth, can also be easily measured with the R&S FS300. Up to five traces and ten settings can be stored in the internal memory of the R&S FS300. Frequently used settings can be easily called up and the same parameter need not be set over and over again. This also prevents setting errors. Stored traces can be printed for easy documentation.
