Anritsu MS2663C Spectrum Analyzer (9kHz to 8.1GHz)
The Anritsu MS2663C spectrum analyzer is a wide band, very sensitive receiver. It works on the principle of "super-heterodyne receiver" to convert higher frequencies (normally ranging up to several 10s of GHz) to measurable quantities. The received frequency spectrum is slowly swept through a range of pre-selected frequencies, converting the selected frequency to a measurable DC level (usually logarithmic scale), and displaying the same on the CRT of the Anritsu MS2663C. The CRT displays received signal strength (y-axis) against frequency ( x-axis).

Interference: Before a system is installed you use a Anritsu MS2663C spectrum analyzer to verify that the frequencies (you plan to use) are not occupied or if the presence of a very strong signal will interfere with your new setup. Interference can be created by a number of different situations. Other tests that utilize the Anritsu MS2663C spectrum analyzer features include antenna isolation, co-channel interference, adjacent channel power, occupied bandwidth, intermodulation, microwave or satellite antenna alignment, and characterization of components.
The MS2663C covers a frequency range of 9 kHz to 8.1 GHz. This allows measurement of spurious frequencies of up to three times greater than the frequency bands used worldwide for mobile communications. The MS2663C has superior basic performance such as high C/N ratio, low distortion, and high frequency/level accuracies and are easy to operate. The MS2663C has a "Measure" function for evaluation of radio equipment (frequency counter, C/N, adjacent channel power, occupied frequency bandwidth, burst average power, and template decision function), and enables the Two-screen display and FM demodulation waveform display. The large selection of options means that a wider range of applications can be handled at reasonable cost.
